Septic System Loans Available at 2%
The Board of Health, through the Mass Water Pollution Abatement Trust, has funds available for loans at 2 percent to Rowley homeowners for assistance repairing failed septic systems. Please contact the Board of Health office at 978-948-2231 for more information and fund availability.

| SYRINGE AND SHARPS DISPOSAL PROGRAM |
| Medical sharps, lancets, syringes and other medical needles/sharps should not be disposed of in the trash or at a dump. The Board of Health is pleased to offer an affordable alternative for the Residents of Rowley:
For a $1.00 fee, the Board of Health will provide a medical sharps container that can be filled and returned to the Board of Health or Council on Aging office for disposal. Contact 978-948-2231 for more information.

Trench Safety Regulations and Permit Information
Effective March 1, 2009
As of March 1, 2009, excavators are required to obtain a permit prior to creating a trench on public or private property. A trench, as defined by Mass. General Laws Chapter 82A §4 and CMR 14.02 is defined as an “excavation which is narrow in relation to its length, made below the surface ground in excess of three feet below grade and the depth of which is, in general, greater than the width, but the width of the trench, as measured at the bottom, is not greater than fifteen feet.” Click here for more information on the new state law and regulations on trench safety.
